At White Dog Farm, students spend a morning or afternoon learning what it takes to properly care for and maintain horses including:
· Proper Safety Measures
· Basic Horsemanship
· Animal Care
As you can see, safety always comes first at White Dog Farm. Students are equipped with riding helmets and are supervised by an experienced instructor at all times. The initial grooming portion of the day helps students and horses become comfortable with one another before moving on to the main event – riding.
Spending time with horses is not only a lot of fun; it also helps children build self esteem and confidence. At the end of the field trip, students can enjoy their lunch in our shaded picnic area.
